A four year old was saved over the weekend by two family dogs after being attacked by a wild animal. The little girl was walking to her grandparents home when a fox grabbed her and tried to eat her. The two dogs, pitbull and collie, attacked the fox and scared it away.
A man was attacked by a fox in the same area just a day after while he was working in his garage. He took a hammer and threw it at the fox, which scared it away. Both victims tested negative for rabies.
Its pretty scary to think that an animal attack can happen right in the comfort of your home. Just last night there were coyotes running in a pack down the street. I would encourage everyone to take precautions when taking that early morning run or even running down the driveway to grab the morning paper. It only takes one second and that animal will outrun you and possibly overpower you. Make sure you are always conscience of your surroundings and if you do see a pack of wolves, fox, or bears tell your local animal shelter or police department. You don't want your neighbors to get hurt.
