Yahoo! news had an article this morning about the worst 5 airlines. It was based on the Airline Quality Rating report of 18 airlines. They were graded upon their services, food, parking, lines, baggage, lost and found, customer service, and etc. They were as follows:
5. US Airways
4. American Airlines
3. Alaska Airlines
2. United Airlines
1. Delta

The results didn't surprise me at all. I had the worst experience with United Airlines and I am glad they are ranked at the second worst. One thing I learned was never travel with a pet with any of these airlines. When my mom and I traveled to New York two years ago, we took our little dog with us because we needed a dog for our business trip. We had never traveled with a pet before and didn't know the rules. We had no trouble with lines and getting our baggage but the flight attendants are beyond rude and classless. Little Olive was having an anxiety attack while flying because this was also new to her and my mom peeked her little head out of the dog bag for 3 minutes so she could get some air.
Next thing we know, the flight attendant comes yelling and screaming and waking everyone up on board. Of course, I defend my mom in the situation and some nasty words were exchanged. Then another flight attendant came and yelled at us and the whole time they ignored us. They didn't once give us water once and snuffed us everytime they walked by. I finally got some guy to get us water but I will tell you this: I will NEVER EVER fly United again. What I have experienced with flying, Jetblue and Southwest are better picks for airlines.

Young police chief

                                                      picture belongs to msnbc.com

Sources confirm that a 20-year old female has been hired as the new police chief in Mexico. She hasn't even finished criminology school but somehow found her way up to the top. Marisol Valles Garcia was sworn in this past week to head one of the most dangerous times in Mexico, the drug war. I was wondering how someone so young could have such a high power, without even finishing school. I guess they're struggling since the cartel is known to decapitate chiefs and any other police officials who get in the way of their drug business. I guess they are desperate to fill the spaces since the drug problem and violence among cartels is getting worse and worse. Two bodyguards are supposed to protect her from harms way so hopefully they will accomplish it and protect her from the gangs.

Oh Hail Elisabeth Hasselbeck----not!

                                                          taken from newsbusters.org

ABC announced Elisabeth Hasselbeck is set to join Good Morning America alongside The View. She will be covering family and children issues as well as lifestlyes. The 33 year old, former contestant of Survivor, will be contributing her opinion on various issues this Monday. She has been on The View since 2003 and has no plans of leaving. She said she wants to broaden her horizons and try new things starting with GMA.

I never really watched GMA but I know will never even try to watch it because I can't stand her. She is so close-minded and ignorant. I understand having beliefs, being conservative, and being a plain old hard core Republican but  I can't stand ignorance of any kind. She lacks so much knowledge on any debate or any time she feels the need to argue her side. If I wanted to hear a juvenile debate  I would go to my little cousins junior high and listen to theirs. She needs to get over herself and realize that she just cost Good Morning America a lot of viewers.

New Drivers License

                                                                  belongs to dmv.ca.gov

The Department of Motor Vehicles in California released a new drivers license that adds new security to protect against fraud and counterfeiting. Some of the features will be hidden images that only can be seen by black lights, date of birth, signatures, a bar code on the back and a new symbol that you can see through the ID with a special light like the hundred dollar bill- none other than the California brown bear.

Those under 21 will have a new vertical license.“The new security features, coupled with advanced technology, make California driver licenses and identification cards one of the most secure identification documents in the country,” said DMV Director George Valverde. “We are confident that they will be well-received by residents, businesses and law enforcement officials.” (quote taken from cbslocal.com).

Don't worry, those who have the old license won't be required to change them over until they expire.

With all of the stolen identities and increase in fraud over the past few years, its no wonder that California would stand up and do something about it. Someone needed to come in a help stop a problem that's been growing in the United States. Hopefully with these new features, citizens will be protected.
